I was in the vicinity of Tiree over the weekend (didn't land), and the weather was glorious. It looks to be great for next weekend too, so the outlook for IOTA contest looks like being pleasant, and we can hope for good radio conditions too. For those going, it looks like being (again) a fantastic weekend combining radio, contesting, social aspects with the magic of being on an island like Tiree. For those not going, pity! You are missing something quite extraordinary. But please do work us during the contest or before. (We will be busy with non radio activities afterward!) A good placing in the island DXpedition category last year will be hard to improve on, but I'm sure we're all determined to try. We need every contact we can get, and UK contacts are all from an island, EU005, so worth more to us.

I'm concerned that we lack experience to erect the Vertical on the beach. Duncan's supervision of erections on the beach will be missed. How will we all be able to get it up? I can just imagine the pole getting stuck in the bushes on the beach, or perhaps us putting something in the wrong hole, or other such errors.
