Now that we've moved to a different content management system, I'd like to kick off the debate about what you want in the website and how it's displayed. I've replicated a great deal of the static content from the old site, there's more to be done and if anyone wants information added, just let me know. There's another debate around the style of site we have, Wordpress, like e107 has a multitude of themes available, see wordpress.org/extend/themes/, many of which are like the present one, news based, but there are alternatives which put more focus on images and other content via a sliding graphic. The current theme doesn't lend itself to easily inserting the club logo in its present shape (the graphic on the screen can be changed but not the shape so we'd need a banner style logo to fit). I welcome your thoughts, this is early days for the new site but I'd like to make it the best it can be.

I suggest that the top banner style heading could be a mosaic of logo, then some images of club activities that show the breadth of those activities. eg: tutoring for exams, MOF, Lighthouse, a contest, some antennas, DF, and something else. A bit of photoshopping could do that. Do you want a volunteer for that? Geoff

I like the new banner Geoff/John, a bit puzzled about what I am doing on the far right of it though!

I was a bit puzzled too, but thought that it adequately demonstrates your love of VHF. It also is a good demonstration that club equipment includes the famous "Armstrong" brand rotator, and DF means more tha "Deef".

Aha that makes it clearer, that must be an HB9CV I am holding. I could not understand why I would be apparently erecting antennas in the dark.
